The Casa Socio-Environmental Fund, GIFE and Wings hold this Wednesday, at COP27, the event #PhilanthropyForClimate:\u00a0A global philanthropy movement to address the climate crisis<\/b>. The event will be held at the Brazil Climate Action Hub at COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. The Conference of the Parties (COP) is the event held by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the most important global conference on climate change.<\/p>\n

Overview:<\/b><\/p>\n

The event will be a roundtable to promote a debate between leaders of philanthropic organizations with very diverse profiles, on experiences of funding the climate agenda. We will address the challenges of mobilizing more foundations, in the global North and South, for the cause, in particular to give visibility to the demands, lessons and opportunities for philanthropic entities to act more robustly and put resources in the hands of forest communities in biomes critical to climate balance.<\/p>\n

We will talk about the infrastructure that already exists, such as the Socio Environmental Alliance of Southern Funds, and demands from the field to ensure that local organizations and communities can access increased financial resources, with a focus on Brazil and Latin America. We will present the Philanthropy for climate movement that today counts with almost 600 member organizations (https:\/\/philanthropyforclimate.org\/) in 20 countries and that new Brazilian members will join at COP27.<\/p>\n
