The Casa Socio-Environmental Fund arrives in Bel\u00e9m, Par\u00e1, for the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference with a diverse and vibrant presence, reaffirming our commitment to climate justice and to strengthening the solutions that are born in local territories.<\/span><\/p>\n

We invite our partners, supporters, community organizations, journalists, and everyone who believes in the power of local action to join us at this gathering that brings the world to the Brazilian Amazon. Our participation will span different spaces of the conference \u2014 from the Blue Zone, where official negotiations take place, to the Green Zone, as well as The Global South House, the People\u2019s COP, Cas\u2019Amaz\u00f4nia, the Social Innovation House, and the Amazon Climate Hub \u2014 connecting experiences from Brazil and beyond.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the panels we will host or co-host, we\u2019ll discuss direct funding for territorial solutions, climate justice, and the protection of environmental defenders. Alongside partners and grassroots collectives working in the territories, these conversations will offer opportunities to connect experiences, exchange learnings, and emphasize the importance of supporting the paths that communities themselves are building.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another special moment will be the launch of the second call of the Sociobiodiversity Web<\/a>, during the panel Sociobiodiversity in Motion: Connecting Knowledge and Nature, on November 11, at 10 a.m. (Bras\u00edlia time), at the Brazil Pavilion (Green Zone). This new call \u2014 which will support up\u00a0 200 projects across Brazil \u2014 is being carried out in partnership with the CAIXA Socio-Environmental Fund, expanding the results of the first edition and strengthening grassroots networks, Indigenous Peoples, traditional communities, and local collectives working in sociobiodiversity enterprises and Nature-based Solutions.<\/p>\n

The Global South House<\/a> will be our meeting point from November 12 to 20, at Canto Coworking (Manoel Pinto da Silva Building \u2013 Nazar\u00e9). This space brings together organizations and funds from the Global South, including the Casa Fund, and was born from the joint efforts of the Alianza Socioambiental Fondos del Sur, the Comu\u00e1 Network, and the Network of Community Funds of the Brazilian Amazon, with support from the #ShiftThePower movement.<\/p>\n

At The Global South House, we will host roundtables, workshops, and strategic gatherings \u2014 connecting communities, organizations, and funders, and strengthening alliances for direct funding to the solutions that already exist in the territories. We\u2019ll discuss funding flows, power dynamics, and pathways to scale up the impact of local initiatives, reinforcing the role of communities in decision-making about their own climate futures.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Cristina Orpheo, Executive Director of the Casa Fund, \u201cBeing at COP 30 participating in over 18\u00a0 different spaces is very symbolic for us. This year, we celebrate 20 years of the Casa Fund\u2019s work, always alongside those who care for the land, the waters, and the forests. And it is with them that we continue to learn every day.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

At this global climate gathering, we continue learning from communities, listening to territories, and valuing the paths that are already taking root in local practice.<\/span><\/p>\n
