Alliance Among Funds launches official website and infographic with results of the unprecedented strategy in the field of philanthropy for social justice
The Alliance Among Funds – an initiative that brings together the Baobá Fund for Racial Equity, the Brazil Human Rights Fund and the Casa Socio Environmental Fund – is launching its official website on the internet (aliancaentrefundos.org.br) where it gathers narratives about the first projects supported by the group in 19 Brazilian states. Also available on the page is the infographic “Alliance Among Funds: a new proposal for collaborative philanthropy in the country”. The document shows in accessible language the results achieved throughout 2022.
The new page gathers strategic information so that investors, partners and civil society understands how the initiative was first created, what motivated the 3 Funds to organize in an alliance and what is the collaborative philanthropy that has been guiding these actions.
The Alliance strengthens quilombolas and indigenous people´s narratives, amplifying the visibility of the supported projects´ actions and strategies to overcome social and economic obstacles, aggravated during the COVID-19 pandemic. Governance
Surfing through the Alliance Among Funds site, we understand why this initiative offers a new way to collaborative governance in the field of philanthropy towards social justice: “this collaborative action is unprecedented, because it puts collaboration as a strategic axis since the reception of financial resources until the governance, with the goal to achieve efficiency and enhance the results focusing on social transformation. United with the purpose of contributing to social, racial and environmental justice, we created a governance model, in constant improvement, based on collective efforts and results. Everything is thought and implemented in partnership, respecting each Fund singularities regarding grant maker operations, and the relationships we have with donors”, said the 3 Funds that compose this initiative.

The infographic “Alliance Among Funds: a new proposal for collaborative philanthropy in the country”, available on the website, shows what was built by the Alliance, and the opportunities, innovations and investments that were created. It also shows the results of an unprecedented action in the field of Communication, led by Coletivo de Comunicação of CONAQ and the Coletivo de Comunicação Mídia Índia. These Collectives represent the main protagonists of quilombola and indigenous people’s communication nowadays in Brazil.
The Alliance Among Funds was created in 2021 within the scope of the Philanthropy Network for Social Justice, currently identified as Rede Comuá (Comuá Network). This strategic and innovative action was forged through dialogues and experience-sharing between the Funds, about the obstacles and learnings that arose along the strengthening of the social justice agenda during the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, the initiative supports 78 projects of quilombola and indigenous people’s communities, located across 19 Brazilian states.
