Thank you 2022!

The year of 2022 is coming to an end, and it´s time to give thanks. We thank everyone that was part of our journey this year: the partners that who accompanied us, the financiers that trusted us, and all the communities that, despite numerous difficulties and challenges, kept showing that it is possible to build a fairer world that respects the planet. Our much felted thank you, in the name of the entire team of Casa Socio-Environmental Fund.

To celebrate an intense year filled with hard work, we prepared a retrospective of some of the most important moment of Casa Fund in 2022. Keep up:

Inside Casa

Internally, the year in Casa Fund was marked by the arrival of our new team members and the return of face-to-face meetings, what allowed our reunion and our participation in national and international conferences. After 2 years without personal contact, we were able to finally give a hug to all the companions that are on this journey. Through the hard times, we always supported, and sometimes even cried, together. We also laughed everyday while focused on our common mission to make this world a better place. That gives us strength and invigorate us as an organization. It is from this union and mutual trust that we draw strength to follow.

Alliance Among Funds

The Alliance Among Funds, an initiative that brings together the Baobá Fund for Racial Equity, the Brazil Human Rights Fund and the Casa Socio-Environmental Fund, worked tirelessly in 2022 to build racial and gender equity and reduce environmental inequalities.

In 2023, we hope to remain alongside traditional groups, peoples and communities, as well as Human Rights defenders, in order to continue this work in defense of rights, community resilience and economic sustainability of families and food sovereignty of populations more vulnerable.

Project Calls

In 2022, Casa Socio-Environmental Fund launched 6 calls for projects and supported initiatives for: the inclusive development in the São Francisco River Basin, the strengthening of territorial rights in the Northeast, the autonomy of community organizations throughout Brazil, resilient production systems and food sovereignty in Pará and Maranhão, the support to community brigades and also the strengthening of community, local and indigenous organizations in the Amazon. Together, the 2022 calls supported more than 350 projects with a total of more than R$15 million donated. We can’t wait for this year’s report to get a better view of the potential of these initiatives!
